Scarlet Bailey
Bio
Scarlet Bailey is an Asian American artist who began her journey in the performing arts at a young age. She started acting when she was in 7th grade and continued throughout high school.
While she enjoyed her years performing onstage, she found her passion in the behind the scenes magic. During her time at Palos Verdes High School, she seeked knowledge in technical theatre – which was not taught in their Drama Department. Self-taught in this field, she taught her peers and later brought home gold and silver medals from the Fullerton College High School Theatre Festival two years in a row.
Scarlet is currently studying Theatre Design/Production at the University of California, Los Angeles, with an intended minor in Film, TV and Digital Media Studies. She primarily focuses on Stage Management, Sound Design and Lighting Design.
A MESSAGE FROM SCARLET
Growing up as the youngest of three, I took part in various after school activities that followed in the footsteps of my artistically inclined siblings, which included art, music, and –ultimately– theatre. It wasn’t until my junior year in high school that I realized there was a world that combined the three. Being involved in the arts has been a constant in my life, giving me the place that I have found some of my closest friends and colleagues in.
When I began performing, I believed that I was supposed to do things because it’s the way they were supposed to be done –– not for the people watching. And although I am no longer onstage for an audience, I still use this motto to guide my life whether it be working on a show, finding balance, or pursuing my passions.
